Émotion

"The transition to emotion is a total modification of "being-in-the-world" according to the very particular laws of magic."

—SARTRE, Esquisse d'une théorie des émotions, Paris, Hermann, 1939, p. 43, 66.
—SARTRE, Outline of a theory of emotions, Paris, Hermann, 1939, p. 43, 66.

"Le modèle, c'est le foyer de mon énergie."

"The model is the focus of my energy."

—Matisse

Any creation can (and it is desirable!) Generate an emotion induced by the Object which is created.

When the means of expression is volume, the material used can be either rough, arduous, surly (direct carving, some would say "real sculpture") or tender, supple, sensual (modeling). It is also possible to use the assembly of different materials or pre-existing objects.

Personally, it is the modeling of clay that is most conducive to the birth of an emotion, because immediate, reversible, accessible to trial and error.

But the modeling is generally not a finality even if the "work" is present and the tangible emotion. The tasks which will follow will make it possible to make this work durable, persistent and thus to keep the emotion intact (it is a strong hope ...).
